Beth Israel Community Learning Lab (BICLL)Teacher – General Job DescriptionBeth Israel Community Learning Lab (BICLL) is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and engaging teacher to join our educational team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, values building strong relationships, and can help create a welcoming and meaningful Jewish learning environment.Position ResponsibilitiesThe BICLL Teacher will:* Create a warm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels welcomed and valued. * Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate lessons based on the BICLL curriculum. * Incorporate a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, discussion, art, games, projects, and experiential learning. * Help students develop a meaningful connection to Jewish traditions, holidays, values, history, Israel, and community. * Encourage student participation, curiosity, collaboration, and respectful classroom behavior. * Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, clergy, staff, and madrichim. * Participate in scheduled teacher meetings, professional development, and classroom observations. * Assist with special BICLL programs, family learning experiences, holiday celebrations, and school-wide events as needed. * Help strengthen students’ connection to Beth Israel and the larger Jewish community.QualificationsIdeal candidates should:* Enjoy working with children and building positive relationships with students. * Be reliable, organized, flexible, creative, and enthusiastic. * Have strong communication and classroom management skills. * Be comfortable working as part of a collaborative educational team. * Have teaching, camp, youth group, tutoring, or other experience working with children. Jewish educational experience is preferred but not required for all positions. * Have familiarity with Hebrew language, Jewish holidays, traditions, values, and culture or a willingness to learn.ScheduleBICLL meets on Sunday mornings from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM & Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 pm via zoom during the school year. Teachers may also be asked to participate in occasional special programs, family programs, holiday celebrations, and staff meetings.About BICLLThe Beth Israel Community Learning Lab is committed to creating Jewish learning experiences that are engaging, meaningful, and community-centered.
