About Julie
Julie brings a wealth of experience to her role at JES. For 15 years, she dedicated herself to teaching Jewish Text and History in DC area Jewish Day Schools. Her passion extends beyond the classroom, through roles in school administration such as in Jewish outreach, admissions, and outdoor environmental education.
Julie holds a BA in Women’s Studies from the University of Maryland and an MA in Jewish Studies from Siegal College. Additionally, she earned a certificate in Jewish Philosophy and Pedagogy from the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem and studied at Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo in Jerusalem, Israel.
When she’s not immersed in educational pursuits, Julie finds solace in nature, enjoys outdoor activities, practices Yoga, and creates pottery.
Work that speaks volumes
I am motivated by instilling Jewish Joy and Mental Wellness for young people. I am inspired by my incredible colleagues and the strength of the teachers and staff in Baltimore’s Jewish schools. When I have a quiet moment to think, I ponder how to make education more meaningful and joyous for young people.
