What have the Shinshinim been up to?

Written By: JES Staff

The Baltimore Shinshinim participated in an evening of Israeli music, exploring iconic songs that have become an integral part of the country’s collective memory. They presented to a group at the Myerberg Center about education system in Israel. In addition to their roles as informal educators in schools and synagogues, the Shinshinim engage with teens across our community through programs like the High School Glazer Program, NCSY, and various 4Front events. Young children have connected with them through interactive story hours at the Jewish Library of Baltimore, and soon they will connect with young adults through the Bnei Israel Ulpan. Community members recently had the opportunity to celebrate with the Baltimore shinshinim the end of Passover with a fun Mimouna Celebration, a Moroccan Jewish tradition! The Mimouna marks the joyous return to eating leavened bread, and the shinshinim brought it to life with Mufleta making, Moroccan tile art, traditional henna designs, games, delicious food, and so much more!
