Sharing Meals, Sharing Stories: How our Shinshinim are Strengthening Bonds

This year, our incredible Shinshinim are making a real impact across the community. They volunteer regularly in two day schools, six congregational schools, four preschools, and three congregational teen programs, as well as with 4Front initiatives including the Middle School Leadership Council, Peer Leadership Program, and Diller Teen Fellows. Beyond that, they also dedicate their time to the JCC, the Myerberg Center, the Jewish Library, and will soon begin working with Hillel and Jewish Club students.

A fun initiative we launched this month is the Shinshinim Supper Club! We are inviting families to sign up for a home-cooked meal with our Shinshinim! Families choose a meal from a variety of options and provide the ingredients (we’ll provide a list). The Shinshinim do the cooking (yes, really!), and then everyone sits down together to enjoy the meal, chat, laugh, and connect. This initiative is currently open to youth movement and congregational school families.
